How do I search for a person, topic or department?

The myJH portal allows users to search for people, topics, and departments listed in JHED and certain Hopkins-related websites. Due to user preferences regarding visibility, it is recommended that you first log in before you conduct your search.

Person Search

1. Go to the myJH homepage at http://my.jh.edu and click the Login button.

2. On the subsequent Enterprise Authentication screen, enter your JHED Login ID and Password.

3. Once logged in, enter a search query in the text box, located near the upper right of the screen. 

For person search, you may enter a person's:

  • FirstName LastName

  • LastName, FirstName

  • JHEDID

  • LastName

4. Click the Go button.

5. On the subsequent screen, your search results will appear.

6. Click the person's Full Name to view additional detail.

7. Within the user detail screen, you may add the person to myContacts, view myContacts or print the entry.

 

Department Search

1. Go to the myJH homepage at http://my.jh.edu and click the Login button.

2. Within the search dropdown menu, select the Departments option and click the Go button.

3. Enter a Department in the search box, located near the upper right of the screen and click the Go â€‹button. 

4. On the subsequent screen, your search results will appear. 

 

Topic Search

1. Go to the myJH homepage at http://my.jh.edu and click the Login button.

2. Within the search dropdown menu, select the Topics option.

3. Enter a topic in the search box, located near the upper right of the screen and click the Go button. 

4. On the subsequent screen, your search results will appear.  

 

Advanced Search

If you've been unsuccessful via People, Departments or Topics search, try using the Advanced Search feature.

1. Within the search dropdown menu, select the Advanced option.

2. On the following screen, you will be presented with a number of filtering options to refine your search.

3. When complete, click the Search button.

4. On the subsequent screen, your search results will appear.
